PLATFORM OF PRACTICES OF THE URBAN HABITAT

(Urban Housing Practitioners Hub - UHPH)

The Platform of Practices of the Urban Habitat or UHPH -for its acronyms in English-, is an open platform for the exchange, the encounter and the spreading of practices, the knowledge and actors that work for the housing and the urban habitat in Latin America and Caribbean. It combines digital space with face-to-face interactions so that people working in the sector can access each other and access information and practical solutions in real time.

Born in October 2016 during Habitat III, the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development thanks to the support of the Alliance of Cities and Habitat for Humanity. Its vision is to impact the quality and scale of housing practices and policies in the region, and contribute to the achievement and local implementation of the New Urban Agenda, the 2030 Agenda (Sustainable Development Goals), and international frameworks for sustainable development, mitigation of climate change and disaster reduction. UHPH with the collaboration of members and allies such as the Caixa Econômica Federal de Brasil, UN-Habitat, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and regional and local federations such as the Federal Federation of Brazil, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development of Chile (Minvu) of Latin American Cities, Municipalities and Associations (FLACMA) and the Inter-American Union for Housing (UNIAPRAVI), in addition to other networks and organizations such as TECHO, Ibero-American Forum of Best Practices, Mario Santo Domingo Foundation of Colombia and the Network of Researchers in Housing and Habitat in the Americas (RIVHA).
